My first month here at Sarawagi has been pretty eventful.
I have learned some valuable lessons in teamwork over the last month. One of the highlights of my time here was Cross Functional Day when the design and admin teams visited the factory and learned how to weave a rug from our weavers. It’s amazing how three or four weavers work together on the same loom; their coordination is commendable.
The visit was super fun and very informative. I am sure the knowledge of how a rug is woven is going to help me understand rug designing better.
As a Graphic Designer my experience with tools like Photoshop, FreeHand and CoralDraw have helped facilitate my understanding of the Galaincha software used for rug designing in Nepal.
I am excited about what the future holds. For me this is not only an opportunity to learn new things, but also a chance to enhance my skill set as a designer.
